We are trying something different from Evan’s Big Crowd Pleasing Chili, to Doug’s ( Evan’s Brother-In-Law ) Green Bay Turkey Chili. This is a simple and hearty chili, with plenty of flavours.

Ingredients:

2 pounds ground turkey
1 can (28 oz) diced tomatoes
2 cans (19 oz) black beans, rinsed and drained
2 packages chili seasoning mix
2 cans (12 oz) niblet corn, drained
1/2 cup water
pinch of red pepper flakes
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 onion, chopped

Feel free to add any other vegetables or spices you may enjoy, such as red/yellow bell peppers, other varieties of beans, carrots…you can even substitute the turkey for a lean chicken, beef or pork ground meat.

Method:

1. In a lightly oiled fry pan, over medium high heat brown ground turkey along with the red pepper flakes and diced onions.

2. Add the rest of the ingredients, and cook over low heat until bubbling. Simmer for approximately 30 minutes.

3. We encourage serving this meal hot, over rice or baked potato. Topped with a sprinkle of cheddar cheese and a dollop of sour cream.
