Fresh out of the oven, these are always a big hit!
Makes 8 servings
1 can Pillsbury refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
1/2 cup (90g) chocolate chips or a thin slice of chocolate
1 egg whisked with 1 tablespoon of water to make an egg wash
powdered icing sugar for dusting
Preheat oven to 350 F (180C)
Open the can of crescent rolls and separate into 8 triangles. Place crescents rolls on a parchment lined baking sheet. Add 1 tablespoon (15g) of chocolate chips to the wide end of the crescent roll and distribute chips evenly, slightly pressing chips into dough. Next, carefully roll up the crescent starting at the wide end. Tuck in any chocolate chips that have fallen out during the rolling process. Slightly curl the two ends to form a crescent shape. Using a pastry brush, wash the top of each croissant with the egg wash to make them golden when baked.
Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Sprinkle with powdered icing sugar.
