Charlie from our meat department and his wife Joanne are big fans of pulled pork. They have come across thisdelicious…not to mention EASY…Pulled Pork recipe and are excited to share it with us!
Ingredients:
4-8 pounds pork butt (depending of your crowd) 2 teaspoons garlic powder 2 teaspoons red chile powder 1 teaspoon onion powder 1/2 teaspoons black pepper 4 cups Dr.Pepper soda 3 cups Village Grocer’s Jack Daniel BBQ Sauce 1/2 cup Jack Daniel’s WhiskyMethod:
Combine garlic, chili pepper, onion and pepper in a small bowl. Mix well. Massage spice mix into pork and place in crock pot. Pour Dr.Pepper over pork. Cook on low for five to seven hours, until pork is tender and pulls apart easily. Drain completely, shred pork using two forks, add whiskey and 2 cups of BBQ sauce. Cook on low for one hour. Serve on toasted bun with coleslaw and/or pickles…and of course use the 1 cup of remaining BBQ sauce on top!
