Nova Scotia Blueberry Flan

Made in deep flan pans with a shortbread crust brushed with raspberry jam, the filled with a cream cheese mixture lightened with sour cream, and fresh blueberries spiced with nutmeg and cinnamon and a hint of lemon zest.

Queen Elizabeth Cake

Old-fashioned recipe  straight from Doreen’s archives! We have been making this cake from the start of our bakery and it has a faithful following. Dates and pecans are baked in a rich butter cake. Towards the end of baking, it is topped with a caramelly coconut mixture and then baked further to golden brown.

Apple Blueberry Crisp

Available from our freezer section near the bakery. Generous amount of apples and blueberries topped with a buttery crumble, ready to bake. Just pop in your oven for about  45 minutes to an hour  at 350 degrees F and let the beautiful aroma fill your house, and you have dessert! Serve with vanilla ice cream.

Blueberries, a bit of white chocolate, some oatmeal and a hint of lemon…delicious!

Lingonberry Cream Cheese Danish

These were such a hit during our Finnish week, and everybody is asking for more! Lingonberry are also native to Nova Scotia  and Newfoundland ( as well as Finland ), so we decided to put them on special again. Cream cheese and lingonberry preserve baked in our beautiful danish dough, drizzled with fondant.
