On June 19th, 2013 we were blessed to have Chef Paula Zavala in our Village Grocer Kitchen Studio to teach us all the art of making a Spanish Paella, and other delicious treats.

With her beautiful accent, Paula took us on a journey to Valencia, Spain through her cooking, and personal stories that she shared!  Starting with a Cold Gaspacho Soup topped with Grilled Shrimp.  A light starter dish is the best way to start off a Paella party.  Of course, Sangria is the drink of choice with either white or red wine.

The Paella recipe that she shared was full of rice, chorizo sausage, seafood, chicken, pork and vegetables. The combination of flavors was delish and dazzled everyones taste buds… her trick was low and slow…but always checking!

For dessert a balsamic glazed berries with vanilla ice cream is light and refreshing after such a hardy paella!
