This past Friday night was our first of what is soon to be many monthly “supper club” events. A group of 28 sat down for an evening of delicious food, wine pairings, and great company. Our in house chef, Kulam, and his team but together a delicious menu. A spread of appealing appetizers followed by a tomato basil bisque with garlic crostini, warm pistachio crusted goat cheese on spring mix, halibut in fillo pasty on a bed of julienne vegetable with lemon neige, grilled prime beef tenderloin on a potato cake with port wine and shallot glaze…and for dessert..amarena cherry mille feuille, delicious!

Our featured winery was Rancourt, a boutique, family-run winery in the heart of Niagara-on-the-Lake, who provided us with a great selection of wines that complimented our dishes perfectly. Sue and winemaker Eric engaged  us with knowledge of each wine, and allowed us to understand the flavors and tones. Although their wines are not available in the LCBO, we do have order forms here at The Village Grocer, so please do not hesitate to ask.

Our next “Supper Club” event is planned to be on May 30th. We already have people signed up so make sure you book early as space is limited!
