Here in the Village, we are all like Santa’s little elves getting ready for the big day. We hope that through our efforts, we are able to make your holiday season a big success, in a culinary sense.

We wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year. May all the cheer of the season surround you!
Here are a few items that you shouldn’t miss – from our table to yours!
Our Hams!
… which won the gold award in a ham making competition. It’s not that we’re so smart, or even innovative, it’s just our stubborn adherence to the idea of not cutting corners and taking shortcuts in the process of making our hams (or anything else we do for that matter). There are boneless and slow-roasted with Maple and Brown Sugar until they are fully cooked. We also have our Traditional Bone-In Ham which is slow cooked over oak, available either whole or half. And last but not least, we have our Black Forest Ham. This is boneless, slow-smoked over oak and fully cooked, ready to go.
Fresh Free Range Turkeys
When thinking turkey, our fresh free range are the best in town! Available in sizes 14 – 21 pounds! Or try our hand tied roasts with either dark, or white meat – you can even get these stuffed! To learn how to carve your turkey with the help of Evan, click here!
Baked Brie: They are available in a variety of flavours, including Cranberry and Mrs.Ball’s Chutney.
Doreen’s Cranberry Sauce: Personally, I love this with a lot more then just turkey; pork, and chicken come to mind, or as easy as right out of the tub.
Grethe’s Cheese Apples: These are the ones that we have always had, but there are new flavours; one with caramelized onions and the other with cranberries.
Tourtieres: These savoury pork pies are a Quebecois specialty that have long ago overflowed the bounds of Quebec. They are a Christmas must, and are available in the large 9 inch size!
Family Size Entrees: We’ll have a good supply of chicken pies, scalloped potatoes, turnip puffs, sweet potato puffs and a few types of lasagna.
Dried Fruit Trays: with a twist! Not only have we picked premium fruit, but we have even arranged it all on plates that you’ll be able to use for years afterwards.
Premium Produce: We’ll have all the fancy sizes and specialties, citrus especially.
Festive Baking!
Shortbread abounds, butter tarts, mince tarts, creme brulees in various festive flavours, all the squares for your parties, gingerbread and sugar cookies! Ganache, vanilla cakes, tiramisu and, of course, the now famous jelly roll just to mention a few.
And Doreen’s Fruit Cake is The Ultimate Fruitcake! Both dark and light… and just a little heads up, the light is only light in colour. The flavour is rich and I find it difficult to only have one piece.
Flowers, Indoor and Out!

We carry a wide selection seasonal cut flowers and centrepieces, poinsettias, along with fresh greenery.  Vi, our floral designer, has also created some beautiful and imaginative one of a kind floral arrangements to enhance your surroundings.

And don’t forget about our outside array of fully decorated Christmas trees, urns and do it yourself greenery.
Dress Your Table for the Holidays
Traditional, modern or whimsical?  Our shelves are stocked with all the elements to help you create a beautiful tablescape for the season. We  are brimming with possibilities and Linda and Karen are here to be your style guides.

We have it all from the classic Portmeirion Ivy and Holly to the dazzling gold and silver:   dishware, serving pieces, linens and accent decor!

Let it glow with our “Reallite” wax candles. These candles give the illusion of a true burning candle with no dripping, no smoke, no burns, no heat, no worries. When set, the smart-timer illuminates at the same time each day for 5 hours, automatically turning itself on and off.  Amazing!!
Holiday Gift Baskets!

While you’re at the Village Grocer, have a look at our food hampers. What makes them different is that they’re fairly full to the bottom – not a lot of puffery here!…and we use items which are generally available in the store all year round. What you get is the type of basket you would like to receive.

Browse the shelves too…you’ll find that we’re pretty discerning shoppers ourselves. We like the good stuff and we trust you’ll find your favorites with us!
