This calendar celebrates a unique collaboration between The Markham Group of Artists, and The Village Grocer. It is made possible, in part, by a grant from artsVest which supports partnerships between businesses and art groups across Canada. The Village Grocer as an integral part of the local community fabric, well woven in. The view is that in order to be a part, one must be prepared to give back and help out wherever possible. The Artists have donated their time and creative talent toward this project. All the the artwork presented here was inspired from our store. It was our difficult task to pick thirteen images from over thirty submissions by the artists. All proceeds – not just profits – will be donated to our Hockey with Heart charity. The charity’s mandate has been to help local community groups and individuals who are in need. The Village Grocer is very proud to have partnered with Hockey with Heart in contributing more then $5000,000 to community initiatives over the last seven years.
