To address the obvious, that the problems we face in the wake of COVID-19 are unprecedented and represent a unique set of challenges to our staff and customers alike. The safety and well-being of every person who sets foot in our store is our #1 priority.

We are operating at reduced hours and at a very different capacity than normal. Please read through this page for all details regarding shopping in our store at this time and our processes around curbside pickup and delivery options.

Curbside Grocery Pickup

How it Works
  • Place your Order

    Complete the grocery order form before 4:30 PM the day prior to suggested pick-up/delivery date, to be eligible for next-day pickup/delivery.

  • Confirmation

    We will review your order and give you a call at the phone number you have provided to confirm and ask for a method of payment.

  • Preparing your Order

    Once your order is completely processed on the scheduled day, we will give you a second call at the phone number provided letting you know your order is ready for pick-up

  • Curbside Pickup

    When arriving at the store, park in one of the 5 designated “Curbside” parking spots to the south of the store for pick-up only. When you pull in, note the spot number and call 905-940-0655. We will then bring your order out for you to load the groceries into your car.

  • Grocery Delivery & Fees

    Curbside Pickup Available

    Starting Tuesday April 12th, Curbside & Delivery orders will ONLY be available every Tuesday, until further notice.

    There is no charge on local orders of $150.00 or more, with a nominal charge for smaller orders, and orders outside our local area (fees may vary).

    We encourage you to submit your order with our new online form (below) or send your order to [email protected].

    Orders must be submitted before 4:30 pm to be eligible for next day delivery. Anything sent after 4:30 pm will be pushed to next available day. Once your order is ready, we will send it out with our delivery staff at our earliest convenience.

    We also offer *FREE* curbside pick up with a minimum order of $100.

  • Keeping you safe
    • We have implemented a screening process for all staff, and suppliers entering the store.
    • We have implemented a vaccination policy for all of our active staff.
    • We have set up sanitizing stations at strategic areas in the store for your use. All carts are re-sanitized before being handed over to customers.
    • We have minimized the availability of self-serve baked goods. Please ask our staff for assistance.
    • We have been re-educating and reminding our staff on the importance of hand-washing and sanitizing surfaces.

    1) Sanitized shopping cart are available for use

    2) We are continuing to encourage shoppers to maintain physical distancing from other shoppers.

     

    In addition:

    • Our café is now open, serving hot beverages and sandwiches to go. Tables will be set up for dining starting Monday April 25th 2022.
    • Try and touch as little as possible in the store. This sounds like a strange thing to say and largely applies to our produce department. We take pride in having the best, freshest produce on our shelves, picking through our inventory, and culling anything that isn’t up to snuff so that you don’t have to. There’s no need to pick through everything on display to find the perfect one.
    • And, reusable bags are now encouraged and available for purchase. We have reinstated our $0.05 charge for plastic bags.

    • How much does curbside pickup cost?
      • The service is FREE for orders over $100. There will be a $10.00 charge for orders under $100.
    • How much does home grocery delivery cost?
      • Local home delivery is available at no charge for orders of $150.00 or more, with a nominal charge for smaller orders, and orders outside our local area (fee may vary based on proximity to the store).
    • Why is there a service charge on smaller orders?
      • What we found is that there is a significant cost to doing people’s shopping, starting with having staff take orders in person (because it’s difficult to do it well by just email), then staff to shop the orders, process the payment, and then have a runner to your car or a delivery driver. We are willing to absorb this cost, and for that, we ask that people make larger orders, less often. On checking, we find other small independent businesses have a minimum as well. We have been adapting quickly due to COVID, and so we have a surcharge only on smaller orders.
    • What payment methods do you accept for curbside pickup and delivery?
      • For curbside pickups and delivery, we only accept credit cards – Visa, Mastercard, American Express
    • How do I know when my pickup or delivery order is confirmed?
      • After you submit the online form, someone from our team will give you a call to confirm your order and ask for a payment method by the end of the day (as long as the order was submitted before 4:30 pm). Completing the on-line form will start the process but please wait for a confirmation call from us to confirm.
    • How long until I get a confirmation call for my pickup or delivery order?
      • Any order form submitted before 4:30 pm will receive a call back the same day. However, if the order form is submitted after 4:30 pm, the call-back will be the following day.
    • Can I get my order for a specific time?
      • We cannot confirm a pickup/delivery time, we can only confirm the date. We pull orders day-of in the order they were received and each order is different as some are larger which takes more time and some smaller. If you need an order for a particular time, we suggest you pick a day that you are more flexible, especially for delivery. For pickup, assume you will pick up at the end of the day as we can hold it for you in our fridge until closing.
    • Can I add something to my pickup or delivery order?
      • Once the order is confirmed with you by our staff there are no changes or add-ons permitted. Thank you for your understanding with this.
    • When can I come pick up my order?
      • When your order is ready for pick-up, you will be called by a member of our staff advising you that your order is ready for pickup. If you have not received that call, your order is not ready.
    • Where do I pick up my curbside order from?
      • We have allocated 5 parking spots near our garages for our pick up program. Once you have received the call, you can drive over and park in one of the spots. Then give us a call at the store number which is stated in the window near the pickup zone. Let us know your name and spot number. We will bring the items out to you for you to load into your car.
    • When is your order cutoff time?
      • Orders must be submitted before 4:30 pm to be eligible for next day pickup. Anything sent after 4:30 pm will be pushed to the next available day.
    • My order was incorrect or missing items, what should I do?
      • If there is an issue with your order please give us a call and we will try our best to make it right.

Most importantly, indulge yourself. The last 2 years have been an especially confusing time, people are panicked and there’s a palpable unease in the air. Instead of spreading mistrust, it’s more important than ever that we look out for and support each other, especially those more vulnerable members of society. We can load up on dried goods and canned soups, but I think we all deserve a little something to lift our spirits. Whether it’s an indulgence in the form of an impossibly marbled steak, a cheesecake or just the convenience of a prepared meal, we all could use a little spoiling.
